Chakras

Chakras are energy centres in the body.  The energy "rivers" or channels of the body meet the energy "oceans" or chakras.  There are thousands of channels and hundreds of chakras in the body, our focus here is the seven primary chakras.

The chakras are round in shape, seen from the front, and cylindrical as they pass through the body.  More or less energy may run through the chakras, depending on your state of being.  The chakras are more open in the front than at the back, and energy runs in the front, through the chakra, and out the back.  The first, second and third chakras release down to meet the main grounding, whereas, the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh release upward and out of your space.

The first chakra represents, quite simply, survival in a physical body.  It deals with information on being in a body.  For women, this chakra is situated between the ovaries, and for men, at the prostate.  The second chakra is found just around your navel.  This chakra is the seat of emotionality, sexuality, and clear feeling.  The third chakra is located at the solar plexus.  It is your energy distribution center, your power.   Your fourth chakra is in the center of your chest cavity.  This chakra represents your affinity with self and others.  It is sometimes called the heart chakra.  The fifth chakra is communication with self and communication with others.  It is located at the base of the throat.  The center of your forehead is the site of the sixth chakra.  The sixth is your clairvoyance, your third eye.  This is the chakra of clarity and seeing clearly.  It is the focal point for your ability to tell a truth from a lie, and your ability to see energy.  The seventh chakra sits at the top of your head.  This is your crown chakra, your knowingness, and your access to your own highest information.
