As a spiritual being, you have manifested many bodies over time and have gained a lot of experience. The energy field that is your localized consciousness stays with you from lifetime to lifetime. As you manifest and enter a new body, you bring that history with you. You pick up where you left off the last lifetime. You will continue doing your healing with whatever issues are not yet resolved. You also bring into a new body the programming from the past, the pieces you are working on. You can identify, in fact, a whole lineage behind you. You could track your whole history if you wanted to; all those past lives and everything that happened. You do, moreover, have a memory of them all and are able to access them. Each lifetime has affected you and you have learned from all of them.
Your body has a history as well. Your body is made up of energy and genetics. So the body in which you live has its history, too. When the sperm fertilizes the egg, there is a blending of genetic history, both the mother's and the father's line. This will be the genetic package that makes up the body, but it is not who you are spiritually. The Spirit of the baby will generally wait nearby and enter the baby body at the moment of birth. The body is already programmed, on a genetic level. You can, for example, believe you will have a weak heart because your father, and his father before that, did. On the other hand, as a spiritual being, you have the power to shift the "genetic information" in whatever way you choose. It can be a difficult shift, but one that is entirely possible.
Making a shift in this respect requires noticing what the genetic history is on an energy level, and then, letting go of that which you do not want to live. It may be programming from your mother's lineage or your father's, or both. The genetic programming governs not only what the body looks like physically, but also what it does, its strengths and weaknesses and its issues. This is one of the reasons we often have similar challenges as our parents. They have been passed down through genetic programming. We are able, however, to choose at any time to access the genetic package and release the programming handed down to us. It is totally your right to make changes. Your body space and your energy system is 100% yours, to do with as you will. This may sound hard to believe but everything is made up of energy and any energy can be shifted. Shifting the energy changes the manifest.
