Consciousness, Unconsciousness in Daily Life

When you start to balance Spirit and body, you begin to realize that every moment and act is valid.  Deep spiritual work and house-cleaning are of equal  significance if you can be present, as Spirit, for them both.  Nothing battles the other.  Nothing tries to erase the other.  Every act is a conscious act.  When you tune into this concept, you begin to see it is possible to be spiritually conscious of virtually everything going on in your life.  It is not that hard.  You might think it would be too complicated, but you start to notice where everything is on an energy level and how it fits together.

Take a pencil lying on the floor for example.  To bring the pencil into  consciousness one might consider, "What do I want to do with this pencil?  Do I want to throw it out?  Do I want to put it in the drawer?  Do I want to toss it out the window?  Do I want to leave it on the floor?"  All valid choices and choosing any one of these is an act of consciousness.  If you have no idea or do not consider how the pencil got on to the floor, it stays in an unconscious state.  How much of your home exists in this realm?  Being conscious is not saying something has to be a certain way.  It is being aware and choosing.  This is also freedom.  It is choosing how you want things to be rather than being beaten up by  unconsciousness when your life experiences are constantly out of your control.

How much time do you spend thinking, "Where the hell is that pencil?"  How much energy do you expend looking for the pencil in all of the places it is not?  This is not an efficient use of energy.  But this could be, of course, a conscious choice.  Maybe this is how you want to spend your energy - looking for things.  Another option is to choose to put the pencil back in the same spot.  This choice saves you from burning up energy looking for the pencil because you left it in an  unconscious realm.

When you understand these ideas and start to live more consciously, you begin to have access to much more energy that you can apply to any aspect of your life.  There's more time, space and energy, because you are not burning it randomly on things you don't really want to be doing. Many people spend much of their time on this planet in an unconscious state.  If you give it some thought, you may recognize some of the parts of your life that are unconscious.  Watching television is a very interesting example.  Usually, what people do is park their bodies in front of the screen, engage their analyzer into the television, and then as Spirit, leave their bodies.  The body sits there and is programmed while the being is off doing something else.  The being is not there to edit, so the body takes on incoming information literally, the TV commercials, the violence, all of it.  For the body because it runs on pictures, it is real, the body believes this is what is actually happening.  This is how mind control works.  If you listen to a significant person in your life repeatedly making you believe you are worthless, and if you, as a being are not present, you will be programmed.  There is no choice, you just believe it.

Eating is another activity we frequently undertake unconsciously.  In this physical reality, manifest bodies eat manifest things for energy.  You consume the physical object to provide your body with more energy.  How present are you for the experience of receiving this form of energy?  Every food has a different taste, smell, texture and feel.  How much are you there for that experience, any experience, how aware do you want to be?

Consider how much of your life you miss as a direct result of unconsciousness behavior.  People can miss their whole lives.  Can you be with the moment and realize every moment is valid?  The reality is you are a spiritual being that has chosen to have a physical body.  It makes sense to actually experience it.  When you decide to be conscious, there is never a dull moment.  There is always something interesting happening. Being conscious does not need to be tiring or require a state of effort.  Do not make the assumption that if you are conscious, you are going to be exhausted because it is hard to be aware of everything all the time.  This is simply not true.  You can be conscious from a state of complete ease.  "Spacing out" actually takes a lot of energy.   When your body gets invaded and you're battling to try and stay conscious, you're battling to try and get into your body.   Living unaware actually takes far more energy than being conscious.  You're burning up energy all over the place just trying to live when you are in an unconsciousness state.

You have likely experienced what it is to be very conscious, even if for a short time.  Ask yourself, when in your life are you highly present and highly aware?  When you choose to be conscious of what you are doing, whether it is skiing, having sex, or washing the dishes, all of it will be rich.  All of it is unique.  You can start to notice the intricacies of how everything is different.  If you're unconscious, everything can blur, all can be undefinded, the same gray haze.  When you are consciously living, there is clarity in all acts; things are crisply in focus.  There is both simplicity and power.  Imagine doing everything from that place.  It is possible.  It is consciousness.
