Lightwork Summer Retreat at Hollyhock Cortes Island, BC
Our summer retreat was beautiful as usual. We were wooed by the wonders of the Hollyhocks garden, healed by the deep and rich Lightwork sessions, satisfied by gourmet food on the deck, nourished by the warm summer days and spectacular ocean views. The “love vibe” as we call it, hit a new high, as we took our affinity to new places.
Debbie and Sandra on the glorious deck.
Debbie and Cathy let the healing energies flow.
Cathy and Angie feeling the love-vibe.
Scott sets the energy for the next session in one of his favorite class rooms.
We get very creative on our retreats.
The handprint is one of the oldest symbols of stating spiritual presence.
And a butterfly joins our beautiful creating-from-spirit session.
3 bald guys - Keith, Warren and Scott - happy to be alive on this wonderful earth!
One of our lovely session spaces.
The amusement was in full flow.

Lightwork, A Musical Journey into Spirit 2006 Summer Tour
At Lightwork we are always experimenting with new ways of introducing people to spirit. A Musical Journey into Spirit combines meditation with spiritual movement, theatrics and original songs; all with the intent to inspire spiritual reality in the viewer. We performed this production at the Lightwork Ecovillage Music Festival, on Hornby Island in the New Horizons Hall, at Hollyhock in their wonderful festival tent, in a huge Gazebo at the summer Tofino market and at the Clayoquot Sound Community Theatre.
The Lightwork Band warms up on a hot day at the Lightwork Ecovillage 1st Annual Music Festival with a few originals.
Julia Thiessen in the Yes stance!
Sandra, Scott, Krista and Julia bring on the night as the sun fades behind Clayoquot Sound.
The show is vibrant to say the least, as the visuals take the Hornby Island audience to new places.
Scott still has the moves!
Performing in an actual theatre was a change on this unusual tour.
As Scott sat with pen and paper beside his acoustic guitar, he started playing a cord structure while he thought about his spiritual journey and the spiritual journey in general. He remembered the first time he turned inward and saw what was there. As looking within and being inward became his practice and life’s journey it inspired the lyrics to the song Looking Inside. In the chorus of this song he refers to not only the light he found within but also the darkness. The process of releasing the darkness is also referred to in the lyrics. These thoughts and cord progressions became the song. Eventually recorded at Venture Studios in Vancouver and released on the Lightwork Band CD, Step By Step.
Looking Inside
I looked into the skies I looked into the night I looked into the lies I looked into the light
It's time to let go It's time to release the flow To step out of the shadow Of this dormant volcano
And when you look into my eyes You'll see festivals in my eyes You'll see dragons in my eyes You'll see angels in my eyes
At last I can see The changing world inside of me At last it is time To let my light shine
And when you look into my eyes You'll see freedom in my eyes You'll see the pain in my eyes You'll see the light in my eyes
Lightwork Ecovillage
Lightwork Ecovillage 1st Annual Music Festival
It was one of the hottest days of the year and the 1st Annual Lightwork Music Festival was born with love and power from both performer and audience member alike.
Susan Summers kicked off the festival with some lovely spiritual tunes backed up by Lyle Povah.
Anna Beaumont belts out another tune and gets the audience moving with the Chakra Movement Song.
Jennifer Zickerman took us into the blues and into hilarity simultaneously.
The Lightwork Band lays down another solid original tune.
Yo, Gary Grennan, slammin' some rhymes with beat provided by Scott and Lyle.
The Journey into Spirit transforms the Ecovillage night.
Escaping the heat.
And a fond farewell, we look forward to next year's festival...
Lightwork Ecovillage Cob Workshop Both our relationship to the land and our bodies were transformed by the depth of building an earth friendly home from the Ecovillage elements themselves. It is a truly amazing process, building a cob structure; Jim Traynor guided us through this process with nobility and grace.
Each day of the cob workshop started out with 1 hour of Lightwork Moving Meditation at sunrise. Yes to that!
Solid foundations with rock from the land.
Getting the foundation plumb with the level.
The first ingredient in the magical cob mixture is sand. Cloe prepares a bucket full.
The next ingredient is clay from the Ecovillage wetland, meditated - to align the platelets and imbue it with power.
Keith adds straw essential for tensile strength.
In cob construction you dance the mixture together, demonstrated here by Krista and Gary.
Layer by layer the cob is applied in a specific manner to create one solid strong wall structure.
Julia and Sandra show the cobbers thumb!
Slowly by surely the structures form begins to show.
Scott and Jim enjoying the view from Lightwork Ridge.
Building with cob is an extremely physical and spiritual experience. We take a day off to enjoy the wonders of our beautiful Ecovillage home and surroundings. At the beach.
Scott, Cloe, Jeanine and Gary go for a paddle at sunset and see lots of wildlife.
Jim brings his mastery to the south-west corner.
Julia and Scott build the double door frame which sits within the south wall.
Next, the straw bale wall is constructed, very exciting for all.
A happy crew.
All foundations complete. All 4 door frames in position. Cob walls continue to grow and straw bale wall stands tall.

Love and Creation
To be in the world from a place of love It is the way to freedom
To know the wounds that hurt so much Like a sword ripping through one’s soul, are not forever
To know that love is boundless It transcends all pain It heals all damage It caresses body and imbues life force It creates the evolution of Spirit And destroys limits It slays fear with a power beyond time and space
Love and creation
Love is the building blocks of reality It is what we are here to do We must all Find courage...reassure the body ...summon the Spiritual Warrior ...and love
All realities are valid realities, nothing ever goes wrong.
Transcending judgment is one of the most challenging aspects of the spiritual journey to freedom. We look at something and judge it from a place of right or wrong, good or bad, with either a negative or positive charge. Judgment is created by a wound, a part of oneself that is not healed; a part which is not whole.
As we get more and more versed at seeing reality for what is rather than judging it - as a dichotomy, as right or wrong - the more we free ourselves from the limitations of the analyzer/mind. We start to realize everything is being created for a specific reason and all of it can be used for our healing. We start to be able to see other realities without judging them, not putting them into a right or wrong category. We start to see all realities are valid.
Ultimately, when we see all realities are valid realities, we understand that this is the way to freedom. This doesn't mean we support all realities. There are realities we choose to put energy into and there are realities we choose to leave alone. On a basic level we understand all realities are valid. All have their place, in the evolution, the healing of individual beings. All were created for a purpose. We start to judge ourselves less and less. We start to judge others less and less, to the point where we realize we have never done anything right and we have never done anything wrong, we have done just what we have done.
There are levels upon levels of neutrality - it is a process. When one reaches their next level of neutrality the universe just opens up and freedom is more and more present in one's life. Every situation that happens in your life is there for a specific reason. If we can get out of judgment with it and see what it is truly about, we are able to get the learning and that is what moves us forward on our path to freedom. Judgment is a trap, it is a cage. We need to free ourselves from it and ultimately understand all realities are valid realities and nothing ever goes wrong.
