As the leaves turn to gold Lightwork is fully into its fall sessions. Our brave spiritual warriors are taking their next steps with faith and passion. Yes to the art of healing. The Annual Lightwork Winter Sacred Space takes place on Dec. 10 at the Centre for Peace from 4:30 – 6:30. The Sacred Space will be followed by a catered organic gourmet dinner, $50/plate. Please let us know if you will be attending either the Sacred Space or dinner, or both. Lightwork is pleased to offer this year’s Annual Lightwork Winter Retreat in Mexico, Jan. 12 – 19. Our retreat will be held at the Mar de Jade Retreat Centre located on an expansive white sand beach on the Pacific Ocean. Spiritual sessions will be held at the retreat centre as well as on the beach, surrounding jungle and at other natural wonders. Gourmet meals are served on the outside patio beside the pool and hot tub. The Lightwork retreats hit new highs every year.
Lightwork Productions - the creative wing of Lightwork - is getting into the swing of fall by polishing up some works in progress. The band's second album, Your Delight is in post production. Though not finished yet, the songs sound great, and the album already feels like a hit. Whether it's delving into the art of mixing a song or creating a new accounting system, the Lightwork Productions crew continues to develop new skills and enjoy the process of creating with integrity. Follow Your Bliss Joseph Campbell, one of the world’s leading experts on myth, said in an interview with Bill Moyers, “Follow your bliss.” He was talking about a spiritual truth that comes up over and over again in the myths of the world. The idea that if you are doing an activity solely for the recognition or money, you are missing the point. You are not on your path, you have not found your dharma. Doing something for those reasons is not a good enough reason to do it. We all have the ability to find our purpose, our bliss, and follow it with passion. This is something Scott believes deeply. Scott wrote the song Follow Your Bliss in the late Joseph Campbell’s honour with the intention of promoting this very basic truth. One of the delightful aspects of this song is its punky style mixed with an important message. It did strike a chord with the college crowd and got into the college charts. When this song is performed live the objective is to play it with as much energy and as high a tempo as physically possible. During the month of September we watched the leaves turn gold, red and brown, we feel the air turn crisp and the sun sets at an earlier time in the day. Fall at the Ecovillage offers a time to acknowledge where we have been and where we are growing. The walls of the cob building are growing inch by inch as we build them up with cob. The garden continues to be tended with weeds pulled and straw put down to act as mulch providing nourishment for the soil as well as discouraging weed growth. 132 bulbs have been planted around the Interim Community House ready to burst forth this spring. A new window has been installed in the cabin adding much needed light and a new composting toilet is in the works. The Lightwork Ecovillage is proud to celebrate our 2nd Anniversary this month. Yes to the Ecovillage and yes to community. Thank you to all who have contributed time, energy and finances into this great vision. The Ecovillage is growing and becoming more abundant every day.
