Reflections of Julia Watson
It takes a while to get beyond the incongruousness of it. This small, innocuous, 2nd floor Kits apartment that we call the Lightwork Centre. An onlooker would see nothing of interest in the non-descript building. And yet within, sits a temple. The seat of the most profound spiritual practice I have had the privilege to know. Here truth arises, darkness is escorted out and people are shown how to heal themselves every day. There is a comfort in the sureness of it. It isn’t going anywhere, it just is. Lightwork exists for all who seek freedom, who yearn to know themselves, and therefore Source. It isn’t flashy, there are no book signings, or television interviews, and yet the profundity of the healing work that happens here often brings me to tears. As an apprentice I have the great privilege to witness it regularly. That alone is a massive healing. I have found my place; my spiritual home, and my community.

Lightwork Productions
Lightwork Productions, the creative wing of Lightwork has several awesome projects on the go. Another Lightwork Band music video is near completion. The music video will be part of an upcoming video podcast section of the Lightwork website. The design of a new companion website dedicated to teaching Level 1 online is in the works. Both the podcasts and the new website for online meditation classes have a projected launch date of Fall, 2007.

The Lightwork Band's New Song!
Your Delight - World Premiere! Check it out!
The song Your Delight started with a jam session more then a year ago. The basic song structure and ideas were in place. The band played the first version of Your Delight a few times live, but when the Lightwork Band's line-up was reformed in the fall of 2006 the song was completely overhauled. Gone were the live beat box sounds of Julia Thiessen, replaced with some cool drum samples. New vocal parts were added along with some fun dance moves. The new version is a lot more hip hop/avant-garde and the band totally loves playing it live. After many late nights with multi-track sound recording program and laptop Scott completed the mix just a few days ago. The whole band is very happy with the results. This song will be on the Lightwork Band's next CD scheduled to be released early 2008. Working title of this album, Operation Love.
Lightwork Ecovillage
The focus this month has been to get infrastructure in place for the upcoming Lightwork retreat.There is nothing like a deadline to focus the work!The deck extension is finished and the roof is in process.All the deck posts are made from wind fall from the land.Many a work party would find us hauling fallen trees out of the woods, loading them on to Troopy and then driving very carefully to Hawk House for unloading and stripping.It is very satisfying to strip wood.You get into a steady rhythm with the drawknife and can very quickly see the results of your labour.The process of hand choosing the log, stripping it, and then fitting it into the new deck has been a labour of love.The way building was done all the time not so long ago.
Construction of a 3rd composting toilet is well underway, the garden is now growing an array of vegetables and flowers, the potato patch is thriving and a flat space for a lawn has been miraculously created out of brush in front of the cob house.
Now that the weather is finer and class schedules leave weekends free, a few folks stay both Friday and Saturday night.Either in tents or the cabin.After a full physical day the crew cozies up and watches a movie on the laptop or the Lightwork Band pumps out some awesome tunes in rehearsal.After a good night’s sleep the day is started with LMM on the new deck setting the energy for another fruitful day.The rhythm of ecovillage life is forming.

Male / Female Sexuality

Can male and female live in harmony or are we going to stay in the male/female battle? The battle is about control of power, supported by "group minds" and "destroy councils" that want to perpetuate the game on this planet. The whole intention of maintaining the male/female game is to keep the individuals so engaged in the battle they do not have time to do the spiritual work that will allow them to become conscious and free.
As I have stated, one of the classic ways for male and female to be involved on the planet is for male to be responsible for female. Male is responsible for taking care of female with respect to the basics like food and shelter, and even her comfort or happiness. The reciprocal contract is female is responsible for male's emotions. The assumption is "he doesn't know how to run feelings" so the female will take responsibility for them. What she actually does is take on his emotions and run them for him in her space because he has been programmed with the idea he is not supposed to run his own emotions or to be emotional. This means male has a lot of foreign energy in his space he is not able to control and, thus, he becomes owned by. Male will then attempt to compensate for this state of ownership by trying to control female. He could make the money and control female's access to the finances.
So the game is she owns him and he owns her. At the most obvious level, it appears male is playing out the "male ego trip" and has all the money and female cannot do anything. On a more subtle level, you see he cannot make a move without her permission. As that battle escalates, female invalidates male for not being sensitive or emotional, and male invalidates female for not being able to manifest or to get something done. This whole game is heightened if there is any level of sexuality involved.
One of the situations that holds the most charge with respect to losing one's space in the male/female game is sex. Every individual has rules and programming around sexuality and the male/female game. You can begin with a clear understanding with your partner about your roles in a relationship, but if there is any physical intimacy, the contract or the understanding completely changes.
We are living in a culture involved in a fascinating dichotomy. We are part of a major control game that uses male energy as a foundation structure, but at the same time, makes sure males are shut down and not allowed to have their energy. The female side is also limited with respect to personal power. Male and female own one another, which does not, of course, allow for a healthy relationship. Some individuals fight the dichotomy by simply not committing to long term relationships for fear of losing their power.
Any relationship between two individuals will be based on a Spirit to Spirit contract. Whatever the arrangement, it is fine as long as it is clearly understood by both parties. It is different expectations that lead to trouble and begin the male/female game moving. What creates the disharmony or the problems is the unspoken expectation or contract to which the other person is not conscious of having agreed.
The way out of this dilemma is to be responsible and whole within oneself and aware of the entire male/female game and how it connects to one's own sexuality and all the other pieces. Male and female must learn to own their power and not give it up and be owned by another, even in the most intimate situations. It is about true personal responsibility.
