Lightwork Spiritual Development
Lightwork continues to evolve. The Lightwork Sex Class premiered this fall and is currently in session. It is powerful, fun and creating lots of change for the participants and the overall Lightwork energy as well. Very healing.
The Winter Sacred Space is always a lovely, moving event, which really
brings community together. Lightwork welcomes everyone to this event,
so feel free to bring friends!
And of course, the Winter Retreat is soon upon us. We recommend
registering soon if you want to join us at Mount Madonna. Retreats are
always powerful consciousness raising events, along with great food,
scenery, hot tubs, massages and more. Here, you have the support to
remain spiritually senior for a whole week and to really honour and
love your body at the same time!

Apprentice Corner
Reflections of Keith Grennan
Hello!
The latest part of my apprenticeship training has me releasing lots of built-up anger. It's quite the experience. All those times someone has done something that has made my body angry, and I just repressed the emotion - I'm letting all that anger come out - without throwing or breaking things however - mostly my body has been asking for more time alone to process these emotions - I've been enjoying long walks in Pacific Spirit Park. It took some time for me to actually realize what this emotion was. I was noticing that my body was more tense than usual, and had a lot of excess energy, seemingly for no reason. I couldn't find anything obvious in my life that was bringing this up - but just today I realized that it is an accumulation of emotion all coming to the surface at once.
A lot of this pent up emotion has to do with a passive-aggressive dynamic whereby I don't own my power sufficiently, and 'rebel' in indirect ways. The apprenticeship program has been teaching me to own my power more fully, and to act instead of react - this focuses my energy and emotion into action rather than bottling it up.
Lightwork Productions
Lightwork Productions is letting the creative juices flow,
as we begin new projects and follow through with old ones. A full length Lightwork
movie is in the initial phase of production. This creative project is being put
together piece by piece, and some segments are up for viewing on the web. This is a large project and will take years to complete. The
Lightwork Moving Meditation (LMM) DVD has enjoyed some renewed attention. This
powerful video was shot in Thailand,
and leads the viewer through the moving meditation sequence. As Cathy Belgrave put it,"I
thoroughly enjoy my LMM DVD gift, thank you. It's such a great way for me
to get myself ready for my day in the morning and to clear out my work day when I
get home. I find that my body loves the movement while being in
meditation; whenever I do LMM I feel more positive, present, rejuvenated and
recharged."

Lightwork Ecovillage
Visiting The Lightwork Ecovillage is like coming home. The
ferns swaying in the breeze wave “Hello". Every contribution to the Ecovillage is felt, the time put
in, the money, the brainstorming sessions, it imbues the land with the loving
intent. While hard at work during a project, maybe shoveling gravel or sanding
a railing, it is important to look up and experience the splendour of the
sacred land; dark mountains against the bright blue sky, a soft chattering
bird. Knowing the Ecovillage exists even after we take the boat back to the
city is a blessing, knowing right now a frog has a happy home, some deer are hunkering
down for winter, a fern is turning brown to make way for next year’s fern who
will wave “Hello".

Song of a Life
Look at the winter's truth, it's alive
Look at the summer's bounty, it thrives
Look at your heart as it touches a moment in Spring
Look at the abundance of autumn,
it soars to the sky to sing
In your garden
On your beach
In your soul
It's the light you reach
You look for the beauty in this fragile world
Seeing the sacred as it is unfurled
It is a song of a life intimate with nature
It is a song of life, bright and mature
Easing Body Grief
- An article by Scott Robinson
Learning to communicate with your body is an essential part of spiritual growth. You have to be aware of what your body is saying to you and be able to touch into its main emotional tone. Although you may be functioning well, staying clear, and keeping your energy moving, your body could be in an entirely different state. This is not a problem, but it is important to listen to the messages your body is sending, and to offer comfort. What does your body want? What does it need? Where is it at? It is through the emotions originating in the second chakra that our bodies can communicate with us.
In order to move forward spiritually, it is often necessary to change certain aspects of our reality. Sometimes these can be fairly major changes, for example, ending a relationship or a career. Either we stay in our present situation, choosing not to move, or we make changes and allow for growth. The latter choice necessarily involves destruction, and then "letting go" of the past.
It is essential to acknowledge the body as it is letting go. The growth process requires the demolition of one reality in order to build a new one. Bodies have to go through this. It is important to let them grieve. We must look right at the situation, and feel it, but not become it, or let it take us over. Instead, we must own it. By grieving for old friends, old activities, old things that, at a certain point, are no longer appropriate, we become more in touch with what we are destroying and our body's reaction to it.
It is through this process of destruction and grief, and then recognition and letting go, that we can begin to start healing separations, primarily separations from Source. When one doesn't have a direct relationship with Source, one fills reality up with distractions of every kind. As we start letting go of some of the distractions, there can be a more direct relationship with Source. It is like destroying an old vessel full of programming and beliefs that ultimately did not serve us, and creating a new, pristine, golden vessel to hold Source energy. It is all part of the journey. Healing can be an uncomfortable process for the body. As an old reality is falling away, it will sometimes all come down with a crunch, and other times it's brick by brick. It can be really comforting for the body to be reminded of old realities (even though you are in the process of letting those realities go). Listen to old favorite music, eat some comfort food from childhood, or visit a friend from the past. These activities can ease the body as it goes through its transformation.
It is also helpful to play more and more with being spiritually senior and the ease that comes from that. Give this to yourself because you will never be able to prove to your body in a physical sense that letting go is desirable. It is something you know and have faith in. Faith comes from spiritual seniority. It is acknowledging where you are on your spiritual path, and comforting the body as it goes through the healing process.
