Lightwork Spiritual Development

The Winter Sacred Space is this Friday, Dec. 7 from 7:00 - 9:00 at 1805 Larch St.  A lot of energy has gone into creating this lovely sacred event, with many people contributing their talents.  Lightwork welcomes everyone to this event, so feel free to bring friends!

We are looking forward to this year's Winter Retreat at Mount Madonna in California.  We choose this retreat centre for it's high vibration and welcoming spirit.  In order to live a sustainable life both internally and externally we choose California as this year's retreat destination so that many of our participants can car pool or take a train; two of the more environmentally friendly ways to travel.  This choice feels whole and aligned with Lightwork's intent to create healing for all on this beautiful blue planet.  There is still space available for participants at this retreat, please register by Dec. 6 if you would like to attend.

Healing Space will continue through December and January, (except Jan. 8 - Lightwork will be closed this day).  This means that there will be a Healing Space on both Christmas day and New Year's day!  Healing Space is a wonderful support over the Lightwork winter break - don't forget to give to yourself spiritually!  If you don't have plans on Christmas day, then Healing Space is a loving supportive place for you to come, have a nice potluck dinner (if you want), and get a healing!  What a beautiful way to begin the New Year.  We would love to see you there!

Classes at Lightwork are now on winter break. The last Next Step before the break was on Dec. 4.  Classes resume the week of Jan. 21.  The first Level 4 / 5 class in the New Year is on January 24th. The first Next Step after the break is Tuesday January 22nd, 2008.  During the break emails and phone messages will be checked periodically.

During the Holiday Season may you practice neutrality, be in peace and love. Yes.

Reflections of Julia Watson

Here we are in December at the end of the fall term.  My body is happy for the break in the regular schedule.  There is always an initial thrill at having unplanned time.  And then after a week I begin to wonder what to do with myself.  I mean what is better than spending each evening finding that quiet inner space, running my energy, and looking into my darkened corners and cleaning them out?  I am watching other students transcend their challenges and learning how to hold the space and guide budding spiritual warriors into their full power.  This is a good gig.  On the cusp of ever expanding consciousness. There is no other place I’d rather be.

Lightwork Productions

Lightwork Productions, the creative wing of Lightwork, has been actively organizing the technical side of the Winter Sacred Space.  Holding this event takes a lot of behind- the-scenes preparation, everything from programming computers to making dance routines.  The Lightwork Band has created a new song, which will be played at the Sacred Space.  The band has been enjoying creating new music, with the addition of some new samples and keyboard sounds.

Lightwork Ecovillage

Our focus of late has been to build a roof for the cob house.  We’ve decided to support the roof with post and beam construction using beautiful wood from the land so that the cob and straw bale walls don’t have to be load bearing.  Permaculture dictates that you use whatever is abundant and local when sourcing building supplies.  Well last winter’s storm created an abundance of fallen trees!  So at each work party Scott scouts out a specimen that would be appropriate for a particular beam or post and then we all scramble into the woods chainsaw in tow and go for it!  We cut the trees into as long a length as we can carry on our shoulders.  So generally that means 6-8 feet long depending on the girth of the tree.  With a mighty heave ho we carry the log through the brush to Troopy and then off to the building site.  If we need a longer post then we cut a 14 foot tree at the half way mark with a zig zag so that the two pieces can be carried individually to the site and then bolted back together again like a jig saw.  The design of the building is being dictated by whatever human hands can lift, carry and maneuver.  Each tree for the roof and rock for the foundation has been hand picked and placed on the site.  Hand made indeed!

The Lightness is Coming

Today I talked to another man
Who was aware of things he didn't understand
He looked inside and saw another land
Yes, for him, the lightness is coming
Yes, for him, the lightness draws near

I saw a woman heal her pain
She just decided to end pain's reign
Then for another she did the same
Yes, for her, the lightness is coming
Yes, for her, the lightness draws near

Like candles being lit, we pass the light
And with each spark, the world has more sight
It comes from within, there is no fight
Yes, for us, the lightness is coming
For all of us, the lightness draws near

And today we shed past time tears
As we say goodbye to our pain and fears
We feel the force as it draws near
Yes, for the Earth, the lightness is coming
Yes, for the Earth, the lightness draws near
Yes, for us, the lightness is coming
For all of us, the lightness draws near

Non-Responsibility

- An article by Scott Robinson

When you take steps spiritually in your life the ripples go out and affect people around you.  Some will love the changes, others will go into resistance.  As you grow spiritually, you will find more and more people turning up in your life under the illusion of "just a friend" -  girlfriend, boyfriend, acquaintance, roommate, employee, boss, or whatever.  As a Spiritual Warrior, it is your job to look at these relationships on an energy level and see what is actually going on.  Many of them are there for spiritual information.  Please do not be fooled by outward appearances, see truth and act from a place of your highest integrity.  Remember, most of the time these people are after the spiritual information without being conscious of what they are doing, just like you did for part of your spiritual journey.

As a Spiritual Warrior, there are several important principles to remember.  You are not responsible for the people you do spiritual work with.  It is not your job to "fix" them.  You are simply assisting them to take their next step and release whatever they are ready to let go of, at that moment.  There will be times when the person you are working with is ready to heal a lifetime worth of stuff.  Other times they just cannot have much of the healing.  This is not your responsibility.  The person may cry, get angry, go into resistance or complain about being in pain.  Alternatively, they may want to put you on a pedestal as an “amazing healer”.  It is important not to take any of this on.  There needs to be permission for all of the varying responses to take place but you must not take responsibility for it.  It is their process.  It is an excellent time to practice empathy.  Keep the work clean and neutral.

As a Spiritual Warrior, you will need to move out of your space anything that says, "It's my job to make sure everything is taken care of".  Allow releasing of any messages that say, "It's my job to fix everyone”.  It is not your higher information.  Let go of anything that says, "If I'm not looking after or fixing them, I'm selfish".  You can only be responsible for what is happening with you.  That is most important.  Taking care of others before yourself means losing your space to them, and that does not work.  Remember they are actually healing themselves - you are just triggering them.   All healing is self-healing.
