Lately I have been working on being more present all the time and letting go of distractions and worry. This has been fairly successful and has resulted in a lower stress work day and more ease in general. I take regular breaks during the day (a 30 second break every 10 minutes and a 10 minute break every hour), to stretch and meditate. My body really appreciates it, I come back to my work refreshed, and I have more energy at the end of my work day.
Lightwork Productions - the creative wing of Lightwork - has been putting a lot of new content in the Lightwork Productions Video section. There are a variety of short videos creatively exploring the spiritual journey. Whether watching a video or looking at the Lightwork website, the intention with all Lightwork Production materials is the same - to help support you as Spirt. Yes to you!

We recently had a volunteer come out to one of our work parties who had experience creating Earthbag buildings. We enjoyed hearing about them first hand and then went out and bought a book he recommended about the subject: Earthbag Building by Kaki Hunter and Donald Kiffmeyer. Earthbag buildings are built with bags filled with earth! This building system is simple, tools and supplies are minimal, a shovel, bags, barbed wire, and the earth beneath the structure. If you choose to dome your earth bag building so there is no roof per se - you have increased protection from wildfires, as fire will more easily pass over any structure without roof or eaves to ignite. Solid as the earth itself, these buildings have excellent structural integrity, they hold great thermal mass, and they cannot rot or be eaten by insects. With so many pluses we are considering building with earth bags in the future.

We are incredibly powerful beings. We can consciously create whatever we want, we consciously and unconsciously manifest whatever we need for our next step as we evolve spiritually. Everything that happens in our lives is an opportunity to grow and to heal. Unfortunately, we often miss important opportunities. We will be moving along in our lives and unconsciously create a situation - a meeting with somebody, or a (perceived) chance connection with a piece of information - and most of the time, we do not recognize the situation for what it is and utilize it. There is a piece of information in every single encounter with another human being, the Spiritual Warrior practices receiving that information. It is all about evolving spiritually. It is all about moving forward.
On the level of spiritual creation, everyone you come into contact with is there to give you a message, or to light up an issue for you or to bring forth a piece that you need to heal, to assist you with your spiritual evolution. That is why we say every human being on the planet is a spiritual teacher, especially the ones who challenge you. Thus, the nemesis in your life, or the people you cannot stand being around, are the people that are in your life to facilitate your learning on a very deep level. In fact, whenever you go out into the world, it is an opportunity to evolve spiritually. The events you perceive as "not going according to plan" are really opportunities for you to learn on very deep levels and are actually your spiritual creations on an unconsious level.
Remember the more spiritually aware we are, the greater ability we have to create consciously with ease and abundance. On the other hand, if we are unconscious of our spiritual reality, we will create situations or events unconsciously and usually with greater drama and discomfort. For example, you are working on issues around being powerful. Perhaps you will create a person in your workplace that really challenges or upsets you. This person could be in a position of authority, and every time you report to him/her, it is never good enough. You are always invalidated, and you find it very disconcerting. Instead of going into resistance, or fighting that person, instead of wasting your energy on thinking "that person is wrong or bad", take a look at the situation and notice what the learning is for you. Why is this person in your reality? You created them for a very specific reason. What is it? Perhaps in this situation you are learning how to own your power. You are learning how to be neutral with someone in a state of judgment and how to shift that state of reaction or resistance into a state of flow and non-resistance, truly using your opportunity to learn. Power is a very common issue. How can you be powerful in difficult situations? If someone challenges you again and again, you will often go into a state of resistance. At that moment you have given your spiritual power away to them. You have to be aware of the game. The people who are going around in the world getting others into states of resistance are, in fact, great spiritual teachers because they challenge an individual to own his or her space. They challenge the individual to be more powerful and more neutral.
Remember that when you are focusing externally on another, if you are trying to change someone, you are not respecting that person’s space and getting both of you more stuck. You simply cannot change anybody, ever; we all need to change ourselves. What you can change is your reality. You can change how you are with that person. That is completely your responsibility. So instead of going into a state of resistance, you can shift to a state of neutrality, or amusement, or even love. Instead of insulting or resenting your boss, you start to see him or her as a great opportunity for learning. No matter what someone else is doing, you will no longer lose your power to that individual, or that situation.
When you get to the point where you are no longer giving your power away, this is a state of elevated awareness and freedom. Those challenging situation you use to create no longer need to be present. The person that you were in resistance to, who was truly your spiritual trainer in this situation, no longer needs to be in your life. You received the gift, the learning. If you still have not learnt what it is to own your power, you will unconsciously create another person in your life to challenge you on this level to make sure you get the learning before you move on. You'll keep creating opportunities to learn this piece. It is a wonderful mechanism. Source set up a universe of free will; on a core level, all we want to do as Spirit is evolve, to become more conscious, to grow. Everything we create in our lives is for this purpose.
It is important to realize you will keep on creating the same situations until you truly learn the piece. Nothing ever goes wrong. It is all created for your learning. Everything in your life is eloquently designed specifically for your spiritual evolution. It is essential to realize we create as Spirit either consciously or unconsciouly all the way along. As Spirit we start to manifest our reality even before we are in body. You may wonder why people are born into incredibly difficult situations, but if you take a look on a core level, on a spiritual level you will see this spiritual being is after a certain piece of information. Whatever the situation they're born into will be the most appropriate reality for them to learn what they need to know. If they do not get the information needed, they will keep on manifesting similar situations until they do.
As Spirit we are much bigger than our bodies. Our consciousness is much greater than what we are aware of. We are always evolving, creating a greater ability to access consciousness and experience it in our bodies. So often people are body-senior, and live their life from that place. In that world, there is a lot of judgment: "That's right, that's wrong, that's good, that's bad". When you start looking at the world from a place of Spirit, you start to realize what takes place is neither right or wrong or good or bad. It is all opportunities to learn. Nothing ever goes wrong. I have never done anything wrong; I have never done anything right.
There are choices that will keep you in a state of personal challenge or even personal hell, stuck in the same lesson over and over. Eventually you as Spirit will learn that lesson and move on. Consciousness is all about evolution and moving forward. We can go out into our lives and use the valuable opportunities for learning that are presented to us everyday. Remember everybody has a piece of spiritual information for you. There is no random act in the universe. There are no accidents at all. Everything is happening for a specific reason. The question is whether you get the piece of information or not, whether you understand, whether you have the awareness to see it. Of course, we will start out "getting" only a few of the many pieces of information we are presented with each day, "Oh, that is what the situation is about." Someone does something and it seems like it is a challenge to you and instead of going into resistance, you can look and say, "What is this about? Why did I create this anyway? What is my learning in this?" As we do this, we start to see what the situation is truly about. As we evolve we receive the learning from more and more of the situations. As Spirit, we are amazingly effective creators. We create what we need all the time.
Imagine you are driving along and find yourself in a traffic jam. You just want to get home, but there are all these cars in front of you and you go into resistance, honking the horn and getting angry with everybody around you. Perhaps this creation is about being able to be in the moment, being able to let go of the resistance and simply be there, sitting in the car, and noticing the reality around you, the sky, the clouds floating by, a bird's nest in that tree over there. Simply be aware of all the beauty around you all the time, even in a traffic jam. The interesting thing is that as soon as you apply the spiritual tool of non-resistance, instantly there is more room for things to move. Your thought pattern will begin to change and you may start thinking: "I'm enjoying this; I'm fine with being here”. “I am actually quite enjoying myself right now. I am a being in body on the planet, having the moment, being happy to be alive." Now you are out of resistance, and the traffic jam starts to dissolve and flows down the road. That traffic jam was there as a lesson in present time, as a lesson in owning the moment, because all moments are equally important, even if you do not perceive them as such. So you can swear and cuss in that traffic jam for two hours, or you could turn it into a blissful state. It is your choice. The traffic jam is not wrong. It was not wrong that you were there. In fact, it was the perfect place for you to be in order for you to get that little piece of learning.
The great thing is that after a while, if you can truly be in the moment, and you are not rushing and pushing against things in a state of resistance. You start to find you are in situations where you are being held up less and less. The person who does not mind waiting rarely has to wait, because he or she is not in resistance.
We create our reality on an energy level all the time. We do this either consciously or unconsciously. If we are doing it consciously, we are intentionally creating what we want. If we are doing it unconsciously, we unwittingly create what we need in order to make the shifts. So in a day, out of the thousands of things that happen, maybe we get two of them. Maybe we get one of them. That's where we start and we go from there.
The key to spiritual growth is getting the spiritual learning from the unconscious creation, understanding why it is happening, without judging, being thankful for any situation because nothing ever goes wrong. The events in your life are always appropriate. They are exactly what you need at that moment in time to get your next piece of learning, to move forward spiritually. It is a lovely way that the universe is set up for us to learn and grow. Nothing ever goes wrong.
