The annual Winter Sacred Space is a celebration of light. There is poetry, song, dance, and more, but mostly it is a beautiful opportunity to tune into yourself as spirit. This year's event provided a varried landscape from drum beats to harp, from silent inward focus to group dancing.
Everybody receives a program and a candle upon arrival.
The Lightwork Productions team set up the space, and as you can see there were many sacred preparations, including these feathers which will be part of a community mandala creation.
More goodies for the mandala.
A bell! We did a walk of bells again this year, and the set up of the bells was just lovely.
The singing bowl.
There were many candles, as always.
Lights; on!
Candles; lit!
Doorway beauty; activated!
Let us begin.
The direction candles are dedicated.
And the centre candle lit.
A beautiful song/poem on the harp by Darci.
Singing and guitar from Lyle.
Mandala making by the whole group.
There were many contributions, including poetry, dance, and music.
And soon we come to the passing of the light.
From candle to candle it travels around the circle.
And with a final word,
and a blowing out of the centre candle, the ceremony is complete.
Sacred Space is always a beautiful, touching event and this year was no exception. Thank you everyone for helping us hold the space, and for joining us in ceremony and light.
